Britain's Tidiest 'Ghost' Caught On Camera As Pub CCTV Shows Mysterious 'Help' During Closing Time Clean-Up
Britain's tidiest ghost has been 'caught on camera' after a pub landlord claims to have been spooked after CCTV caught mysterious help during closing time clean-up. Eerie footage shows licensee Katie Ann Round, 31, placing an A-board and mop in the back room of the boozer after closing time last week. But after she left the room at The Chapel House in Dudley, West Mids., the yellow wet floor sign seems to move mysteriously and fold itself neatly on the floor. Then, as her fiance Ben Parkes, 35, enters the shot, the mop in the corner of the room is propelled across the nearby table. Katie and business partner James Stevens, 39, are now calling in paranormal investigators to try and shed some light on the ghostly goings-on.
James, who has been running the pub with Katie for the last three months, said: "I was in my bedroom at the time and they came running up the stairs. "They had watched the footage after the mop fell over and they were both a bit frightened by what they saw. "And so was I. When I watched it back I just thought 'what the hell is that?'. It sent a chill down my spine. "The locals have told us about a few ghostly goings on over the years and the pub has been around since 1830. "There's been lots of talk about strange things happening here but this was our first experience of it. "I'm not really a believer in ghosts, but this makes you really think. It was a really weird experience and freaked me out a bit. "But we have to say it must be Britain's tidiest ghost. It did a very good job." Katie, of Tividale, West Mids., added: "I was cleaning up at the end of the night and heard something in the kitchen.
"I went out to look and couldn't see anything so I thought it was my other half pulling my leg. "Ben jumped out of his skin when the mop fell over. When we looked at the footage later, we couldn't believe it. "I didn't believe in ghosts at all but this really spooked me. There have been other incidents since. "Last Friday a glass on a shelf above the bar propelled off and hit me hard in the chest." Ben and Katie researched the pub, which they took over nine weeks ago, after the ghostly encounter and found it was over 200 years old. Ben added: "It turns out that the cellar at the pub, and the arches in the cellar were barred and used as overflow cells for the nearby police station. "Sometimes you can hear footsteps coming up stairs but then they just stop."
