North Carolina Man Swears He Spotted Bigfoot; Experts Doubt His Claims
A North Carolina man swears he saw Bigfoot. Thomas Byers sent a blurry video to local television station WCNC showing what he claims to be the elusive furry creature running across a local road. "As I filmed it crossing the road it turned its head towards me and snarled or growled at me as it ran across the road," he posted on hubpages.com."It was truly one of the most amazing sites I have ever seen." It could be proof of the real thing, he said. "If you had been standing out there on that road I guarantee you that you would have been amazed at what we saw," he insisted. The creature also left footprints that Byers claimed proved he had six toes - just as Bigfoot is described. According to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, there have been many recent spottings of Sasquatch. But the president of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization had his doubts. "This is obviously a fraud," Matt Moneymaker told the Daily News. "The costume was so cheap (Byers) had to blur the image." He also pointed to the short length of the video and its strange cutoff points. Commenters on the WCNC website agreed. "This has to be a guy in a bear suit," one commenter wrote. "I have been following the Bigfoot mystery for over 25 years now," another wrote. "This has no characteristics of a classic Bigfoot sighting. It actually appears to be waving while it crosses the road. If you are to going pull a hoax then you should do your homework before you put someone in a costume."
